Travelport and Japan Airlines have signed a new content agreement.
Under this agreement, JAL will continue to use Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding merchandising solution, joining over 250 other airlines, allowing them to display their branded fares and ancillary content in a graphically rich manner.
Damian Hickey, vice president, Asia Pacific, Travelport commented: “Today’s announcement marks Travelport’s continuing commitment and investment to Japan’s growing travel and tourism industry.
“It has been a pleasure working with the JAL Group over other strategic projects and we are delighted that they have extended the scope of our partnership.
“We look forward to achieving more commercial successes with JAL.”
Over 68,000 of Travelport-connected travel agencies globally now have real-time access to JAL’s fares and inventory, providing even more content and choice for travellers.
With Japan’s inbound travel forecast to hit 40 million visitor arrivals by the year 2020, JAL is now well-positioned to support this growth.
Yoriyuki Kashiwagi, executive officer, Japan Airlines, added: “With the Olympic Games coming to Japan in 2020 and the ever-growing market, it is crucial for Japan Airlines to keep up and stay relevant to travellers.
“We look forward to be better connected and better presented to global travel consumers by using Travelport’s immense network.
“We are excited to work even closer with Travelport to deliver the best value to all travellers.”
