A private jet service will be launched on June 1, between OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, and Singita’s private concession in the Sabi Sand reserve.
A partnership between Federal Airlines and Singita will see guests enjoying a luxury journey on one of two private jets: a nine-seater Cessna Citation Excel and a four-seater Cessna Citation Mustang, dependent on the number of passengers.
Guests will be met airside as they disembark from their commercial flight at OR Tambo International Airport, then fast-tracked through immigration control, following which a luxury transfer vehicle will transfer them directly to the Federal Airlines lounge. A luxurious 35-minute flight at 35 000 feet, accompanied by sparkling wine, will see the aircraft fly directly to Singita’s Sabi Sand airstrip, with no stops en route.
Passengers travelling on to Singita Kruger National Park can then catch the Cessna Caravan for a 20-minute flight across. Jet charters to Cape Town and Singita Pamushana Lodge are also available.
“This pioneering and ground-breaking new service is set to revolutionise the way guests experience air transfers. The service is a first for South Africa, and a first for the African continent, and we are delighted to have the support and the shared vision of Singita on this exciting new project,” says Commercial Manager of Federal Airlines, Nik Lloyd-Roberts. “Our focus and objectives with the service are to elevate both Federal Airlines and Singita connectivity options for guests; enhance a sustainable, reliable and exceptional service; cover a greater distance in less time while still maximising the guests’ experience; and enhance awareness of jet charters as a premium, reliable service for the discerning traveller.”
