The Cyprus Tourism Organisation’s September 2017 visitor figures continue to show strong growth to the destination.
From January to September 2017, global tourist arrivals to Cyprus reached 3,001,603, compared to 2,617,218 in 2016; a year-on-year increase of 14.7 per cent.
UK arrivals during this period reached 1,039,783; an 8.9 per cent increase compared to the 954,673 UK arrivals from January to September in 2016.
During September 2017, Cyprus welcomed 483,716 global visitors; a 14.8 per cent increase on September 2016, which saw 421,201 global tourists visiting Cyprus.
Of these, there were 165,728 UK visitors compared to the 149,586 UK arrivals in September 2016; a 10.8 per cent year on year increase.
Orestis Rossides, UK director of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, said: “We’re delighted to see continued growth in tourism to Cyprus, both from the UK specifically and across all markets.
“Thanks to the continued growth throughout the year, 2017 remains on track to be another record-breaking year.
“With the warmest winters in Europe, Cyprus is a wonderful winter sun destination and we encourage travellers to consider our beautiful island for their upcoming holidays throughout the winter.”
