The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association has created a website to emphasize that the bulk of the Caribbean’s cruise destinations have not been affected by hurricanes this year.
CaribbeanIsOpen.com went live on Monday, FCCA president Michelle Paige said.
The site will serve as a resource for consumers and can be used as a reference by travel agents to outline the availability of many Caribbean destinations.
In a conference call, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. president and COO Adam Goldstein said only four cruise ports with substantial cruise business — St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. Maarten and San Juan — are damaged. He said those ports should be welcoming passengers by November at the latest.
The website is part of a multimedia campaign being organized by the FCCA to keep demand for Caribbean cruises flowing. Paige said creative materials for the campaign are in the development process and updates will be forthcoming soon.
