The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is targeting India and is showcasing Bahrain as an island wedding destination.
To promote Bahrain as a wedding destination, Dr Ali Hassan Follad, Advisor, BTEA recently visited Delhi to attend the Vogue Wedding Show.
“Indian families are now looking for new destinations for organising weddings and Bahrain beautifully serves the purpose. It is placed in close proximity to India with three daily direct flights from Delhi,” he said
“The historical relationship between both the countries dates back to more than 1000 years. Showcasing a confluence of cultures, Bahrain houses 200-year-old temples, adjoining a mosque and a church, he added.
BTEA is working on attracting wedding travellers from India and already 1,300 overnight guests have arrived in April 2016. Follad feels that Indian market has the potential for MICE and leisure travel as well.
