Westin will reflag the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on Hawaii’s Big Island early next year after the beachfront resort receives a $46 million renovation.
The hotel will be known as the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort next February, though Starwood Preferred Guest members will be able to earn or use points at the hotel as soon as next month.
The 350-room hotel opened on Hawaii’s Kohala Coast near the island’s northwestern corner in 1994 as the second phase of the Mauna Kea Resort, whose first phase includes the 252-room Mauna Kea Beach Hotel that was built by Laurence Rockefeller in 1965. That hotel joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection in 2015.
Both hotels are operated by Prince Resorts Hawaii.
