Sun International has opened the Sun Meropa Hotel in Polokwane. The hotel was built in less than a year, with construction breaking ground in September last year.
The 60-room hotel flows into the casino complex and has a Moroccan theme.
Sun Meropa General Manager, Peter Guthrie, says the R76 million (€4.8m) development reaffirms Sun Meropa’s commitment to supporting the city’s economic priorities and growing Polokwane into a destination of choice for international and domestic travellers, thus contributing to the local community.
The hotel provides an economic stimulus for the region, with approximately 475 jobs created directly and indirectly through the development.
