Crystal AirCruises, a Hong Kong-based luxury private jet and resort operator, recently announced that its inaugural flight would depart on September 30, and will feature South African chef, Francois Van Zyl, who will create Michelin-inspired dishes.
The Boeing 777, named Crystal Skye, will depart from Hong Kong or Macau on September 30 for an eight night trip, for an all-inclusive price of $45 000 (€38 700). It will cater for the Asian market and will fly 86 VIPs to Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Reserve in time for the great migration, then continue to Tahiti, where guests will stay in an overwater villa in Bora Bora.
A B777 normally carries 380 passengers, however Crystal Skye offers first-class travel for only 86 guests.
Each flatbed seat comes with a 61cm screen, noise-cancelling Bose headphones, personal iPads and complimentary WiFi. An on-board lounge offers easy socialising, with four tables that seat six, two couches and a stand-up bar.
Van Zyl will be serving Michelin-inspired dishes in a five food presentation and the aircraft will carry the largest wine cellar in the air.
Crystal Skye will provide ten butlers per flight and offer the highest crew to passenger ratio of any twin-aisle aircraft.
The aircraft can also be chartered for one to 28 nights, for customised journeys.
