Heavenly wood-fired Neapolitan pies that don’t over do it with toppings and manage to straddle the fine line between original and traditional. The brussel sprout pie (delicate fior di latte, smoky pancetta, garlic and pecorino) is an absolute must.

Roberta’s is not authentic Italian pizza, in that they don’t use imported products. They make their own – homemade mozzarella, house cured meats, rooftop farm veggies… This is Bushwick pizza and it’s damn good!

A Carroll Gardens gem. No bells and whistles or inventive toppings, just loving hands (seriously, the guy makes love to the dough) that knead, stretch and dress this crust pizza. A pizza purist’s heaven.

If pizza is all about the crust then the signature Montara pizza at Don Antonio’s will more than hit the spot. The pizza dough is first lightly fried then topped with a tangy tomato sauce, silky smoked mozzarella and fresh basil leaves and finally popped in the wood burning oven.

Some swear by wood burning ovens, but it’s the well seasoned coal fired baby at Totonno’s (it’s been burning since 1924) that churns out perfectly charred pies.
The dough is fresh, the crust is thin, the sauce is flavorful and they don’t go crazy with the cheese… I’ve been to all the old time pizza shops around town and this is the best every time. So, do yourself a favor and make the trip out to Coney Island. Totally worth it! – Josh Moody-Arndt

Detroit style square pizza, it’s all about that frico! These rich, crunchy squares are with topped with anything from pepperoni to truffles. Delish!

Sullivan Street Bakery
Irresistible roman style pizza from James Beard Award winner Jim Lahey. Crispy and chewy, grab a square of the deceivingly simple biancha or rossa or the savory potato rosemary. His artisanal pizza restaurant Co. is also worth a visit.
