Definitely try: The full lobster dinner for two, served with cilantro garlic butter and all the fixings to make some seriously amazing tacos.
4. Torchy’s Tacos, Austin, TX

Definitely try: One of the unique taco options, like the Fried Avocado (a favorite for vegetarians) or the Trailer Park with fried chicken.

Definitely try: The Sonoran-style hot dog. Named for the Mexican state where it originated, this hot dog is wrapped in bacon, grilled, and topped with beans and other toppings.

Definitely try: The salbutes: puffed, deep-fried tortillas topped with ground beef and pork, plus pickled red onions, tomato, and avocado.

Definitely try: Anything you can dump salsas onto — the salsa bar is famed throughout Santa Barbara.

Definitely try: Breakfast tacos and the margaritas (maybe not at the same time of day).

Definitely try: The guacamole appetizer — and good luck saving room for anything else.

Definitely try: Totopos con Chile (chips with a spicy kick) to start and the Quesadilla Roja con Chicharron (a crispy quesadilla with pork) for the main course.

Definitely try: One of the vegetarian options, like the Supergreen Burrito, a spinach tortilla filled with all manner of grilled veggies. (But don’t worry, carnivores — there are plenty of meat options, too.)

Definitely try: One of the rice-less burritos, but the jury is out on which filling is best (carnitas? chorizo? carne asada? veggie?) so you’ll just have to come back more than once.

Definitely try: The six-taco sampler, perfect for first-timers, the indecisive, or superfans who can’t get enough of those handmade corn tortillas.
