Marriott International is planning to open the Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh in 2021.
The hotel marks the first Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Cambodia.
Owned by Royal Field Development Company, Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh will be situated on a prime section of Russian Boulevard within the administrative centre of the city, with seamless access to corporate, diplomatic and tourist destinations in the capital; the site is a 20-minute drive from the airport.
“We are pleased to enter into partnership with Royal Field Development to debut the Fairfield by Marriott brand in Cambodia, strengthening Marriott International’s presence in Southeast Asia,” said Paul Foskey, chief development officer, Asia Pacific, Marriott International.
“As Phnom Penh continues to grow into a prominent destination in the region, we will cater to the robust demand from business and leisure travellers for reliable, mid-range accommodations in the bustling city.”
In addition, the flexible on-site restaurant will serve an authentic mix of local and international flavours, while a well-equipped fitness centre will help guests maintain balance while on the road.
As Phnom Penh continues to grow as a destination for both tourism and business, Fairfield by Marriott will offer convenient access to a variety of attractions.
Royal Field Development Company is a subsidiary of leading Cambodian conglomerate Chip Mong Group, which engages in diverse businesses ranging from property development to the manufacturing of building materials and the production of beverage products; the group is currently developing a 20-hectare township in Phnom Penh.
Commenting on the deal Leang Khun, chairman of Chip Mong Group, said: “Phnom Penh continues to enjoy strong economic growth, attracting visitors from all over the world.
“We believe that Fairfield by Marriott offers outstanding services to travellers who seek a balanced experience at a great price point. And we are excited to work with Marriott International and look forward to a successful partnership.”
