Atta is calling on members of the trade to nominate deserving media for the 2017 Avis Atta Media Awards, which will celebrate excellence in travel media, journalism and broadcasting relating to Africa. Entries close on May 21.
“These awards will not only celebrate the incredible calibre of journalism on offer, but also importantly help to really shine light on this part of the world,” says Atta CEO, Nigel Vere Nicoll.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Royal Over-Seas League at St James’s in London, on June 27. It is part of the annual Atta Regatta Summer Networking event, which is sponsored by the Kenya Tourism Board.
The Avis Atta Media Awards aim to recognise content that is inspiring and creative. There are 10 categories including: Best news coverage of African tourism; Best online coverage of Africa; and Special Award: Contribution to understanding African tourism.
Articles must educate and entertain readers on various subjects pertaining to Africa, aiming to encourage interest that will benefit all those associated with African tourism and the association’s members.
