Haiti-based Sunrise Airways will launch its first service from the U.S. to Haiti on Oct. 17.
The carrier will operate three weekly flights between Orlando and Port-au-Prince. Seats will go on sale in mid-June, subject to government approval.
“For the sizable Haitian community living in the Orlando area, these new flights are a tremendous development,” said Philippe Bayard, Sunrise’s president. “No longer will travel from Orlando to Haiti require a trip to Miami first to connect with carriers serving Haiti.”
Sunrise will deploy an Airbus A320 aircraft with two classes of service for 150 passengers.
