This is the local’s ski resort town. Lift prices are WAY lower than Aspen, so if you’re broke or trying to get a whole family on the lifts, this is a great choice. Feed your winter appetite with fried chicken at Slogar or tamales at Teocalli’s.

Argentinian Patagonia is at the end of the world – so you won’t be able to help holing up in the hygge. San Carlos di Bariloche is the main town, and reports are that chocolate is everywhere along with great restaurants and a quaint Alpine feel.
