The Department of Tourism, Philippines recently conducted a familiarisation (FAM) trip for its Indian travel trade partners to the islands of Davao, Boracay and Metro Manila. The six-day itinerary introduced travel professionals to the destination and highlighted top excursions, water activities, cuisines, niche hotel properties and other offerings. In addition, the participants also conducted B2B meetings with key DMCs from the Philippines.
Representatives from six travel companies including Make My Trip, TUI India, Yatra Online Pvt Ltd, Kesari Tours Pvt Ltd, Club7 Holidays Ltd and Via.com participated in the Fam.
Gaurav Gujral, Associate Director, Outbound Products, Make My Trip, said, “I was highly impressed with all the attractions and activities included in the itinerary. Be it snorkelling over the coral beds or the beach-side dinner under the stars with live music or the glittering Metro Manila, I was totally spellbound by the Philippines.”
Nishant Mani, Regional Sales Head and Marketing Head – MICE, Via.com, said, “I am delighted to have experienced so much in such a short span of time. Although Manila will keep on getting a high number of Indian arrivals, I feel Boracay is certainly a destination that can be pushed in the Indian market for both FIT and small groups with combination with Manila. Overall, it was an excellent trip.”
