Avalon Waterways has promoted Pam Hoffee to lead its operations as chief product and operations officer, and Terri Burke to drive Avalon’s sales, marketing and promotional efforts as managing director.
These appointments come as Avalon’s current managing director, Patrick Clark, announces his pending retirement. Clark has led the river cruise line since 2005. Hoffee and Burke will transition into their new roles in 2017, and Clark will stay with Avalon as chairman for the better part of 2017 before shifting into retirement.
“The stage is perfectly set for Pam and Terri to ignite future growth and innovation for Avalon Waterways,” stated Scott Nisbet, president and CEO of Avalon’s parent company, the Globus family of brands.
Hoffee has guided product and operations for the Globus family of brands’ North America and exotic products since 2003. She oversaw the Southeast Asia river cruise operations.
“I’m especially looking forward to spending my time working with our worldwide operations team on the evolution of our Suite Ship design, new shipboard features, broadening and differentiating itineraries,” Hoffee said in a statement.
As director of national accounts, Burke formerly led the Globus family of brands’ key retail partnerships alongside Paula Hayes. Burke activated the Avalon specialist program intended to better educate agents about Avalon products.
Burke has also worked with Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Cruise Planners/American Express, and AAA National.
