TTF West Series commenced with a houseful show at Gujarat University Exhibition Hall, Ahmedabad with over 545 exhibitors showcasing their products to more than 10,000 visitors over the three days, accounting for a 30% growth over the previous year.
TTF Ahmedabad was inaugurated by Kamleshbhai Patel, Chairman, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL). Host State Gujarat Tourism participated in a big way, accompanied by several co-exhibitors, promoting their top destinations and products at a large and colourful pavilion. Tourists were also lured by the destination showcase of Uttarakhand and West Bengal Tourism through their travel trade roadshows organised on the side-lines of TTF.
Following Ahmedabad edition, TTF returned to the centrally located Pandit Dindayal Upadhayay Indoor Stadium in Surat to present a congregation of over 194 exhibitors. TTF Surat was inaugurated by Ganpatsinh Vasava, Minister of Tourism, Government of Gujarat.
TTF Surat received a bumper response with over 8000 visitors attending the show. Another highlight of the event was the presence of a newly formed body of the South Gujarat Association of Travel Agents (SATA) who not only set up a booth at the venue but also hosted a dinner for all TTF exhibitors to interact with their members.
Tourists were further delighted with a platter of vacation planning offers for the high festive season when TTF entered Maharashtra, one of the oldest and most important travel markets of the country.
Mumbai’s Nehru Centre played host to the three-day travel trade show that had over 247 participants and over 5000 visitors, again marking a 30% growth over last year. TTF Mumbai saw the official participation of north-eastern states comprising Manipur, Sikkim and Tripura who showcased the less explored regions of the country. The event also marked the debut participation of Intiamatkat Tours & Travels promoting Scandinavia, Korean Air and South India Hotels & Restaurants Association (SIHRA).
The final chapter of the West Series culminated in Pune, at Messe Global, Seasons Mall. The show was inaugurated by the Mayor of Pune, Prashant Sudam Jagtap. Besides business interactions over the period with 130 exhibitors, TTF Pune conducted the Travel StartupknockDown+ in association with TravHQ, on the second day of the event. TTF Pune also conducted a luck draw raffle at the end of each day where visitors won exciting tourist packages, hotel stays and tickets.
Commenting on the success of the TTF shows, Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman & CEO, Fairfest Media Ltd (organiser of TTF), remarked, “Western India in general and Gujarat and Maharashtra in particular are the most important travel markets of India. It has a strong Diwali and winter travel season that the TTF caters to very effectively. TTF Ahmedabad and TTF Mumbai surpassed our expectation by growing 30% over the last year.”
What added another feather to the cap was the active and involved participation of several trade associations like SATA, Tour Operators and Travel Associations of Gujarat (TAG), Air Travel Agents Association (ATAA), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and Travel Agents Association of Pune (TAAP).
Country representations at TTF West Series included Bangladesh, Macao, Nepal, New Zealand, Thailand, besides state representations from Andaman &Nicobar, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Sikkim, among others.
TTF was supported by Incredible India, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI), Association of Domestic Tours Operators of India (ADTOI), Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI), SKAL International.
