Delta unveiled three U.S.-Europe seasonal routes for next summer.
Starting May 25, the carrier will fly daily between New York and Lisbon and between New York and Berlin. Also that day, Delta will commence daily service between Boston and Dublin.
The Dublin and Lisbon service will extend until Oct. 27. Delta will cease the Berlin service for the year on Sept. 4. The carrier will operate all the flights in conjunction with joint venture partners Air France-KLM and Alitalia.
Delta will compete against Air Berlin on the New York-Berlin route and against TAP Portugal on the New York-Lisbon route. Aer Lingus is the lone carrier that currently flies between Boston and Dublin.
Delta previously offered service between New York and Berlin, but ended the route in December 2011.
The carrier’s decision to add the three seasonal transatlantic routes comes in spite of airline industry concerns about softness in the transatlantic leisure market.
