Airports in Barbados and Saint Lucia were open Thursday following the passage of Tropical Storm Matthew.
Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport reopened Thursday morning after being closed on Tuesday night and all day Wednesday.
In Saint Lucia, Hewanorra International Airport and the smaller George F. Charles Airport were both operating Thursday, as well. The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Port Authority closed both facilities at noon Wednesday due to Matthew.
Though Hewanorra was open, it was reporting several flight delays and cancellations early Thursday afternoon.
Matthew crossed the southeastern Caribbean on Wednesday afternoon and evening with sustained winds of 65 mph.
