W.C. Harlan

Go for: The fun of an unpretentious speakeasy, the mood of 1920s styling, and the taste of a perfectly executed craft cocktail.

Azumi

Go for: Sushi made with top-quality seafood, including some imported from Japan. Make sure you get a table with a view of the harbor — it’s almost as good as the food.

The Bun Shop

The Charmery

Go for: Ice cream with a twist, the “twist” being unique Baltimore flavors, like Berger cookies and — for the bold — Old Bay seasoning.

Bar Clavel

The Food Market Baltimore

Go for: The Amish soft pretzels and then something hearty from the “big” portion of the menu — the steak frites is a good bet.

Shake Shack

Go for: The most beloved burger on the East Coast. Yes, it’s a chain, but if you haven’t tried it yet, you can now at the first (and still only) location in Maryland.

Atwater’s
