Spend your day out in the brisk cold burning calories and your evenings sitting by the fireplace indulging in rich French food in beautiful chalets.
Sweden
What better way is there to embrace the cold than to stay in a hotel made of ice? A stay at the Jukkasjärvi Ice Hotel in Sweden is like stepping into a magical glittering wonderland. New Zealand
Visit New Zealand’s South Island to view their stunning glaciers located in the South Alps. You can go for a guided walk on the glaciers or take a helicopter ride over the glaciers and then hike on pristine snow and ice. The glaciers are about a five hour drive from Christchurch where you can rent transport and set off on a road trip via the glaciers. The other popular glacier in New Zealand is the Tasman and it is in Abel Tasman Park. The Tasman is the largest glacier in New Zealand and it is best viewed from the terminal lake below it.
Finland
Travel to Finland to experience a unique vacation of dog sledding. It takes a few hours to learn how to guide the dogs and then you are off! You help with basic maintenance of the dogs and you stay in basic accommodations. The trip goes above the Arctic Circle and you will experience amazing wintery sights. Be sure to look up at night and see the wonder of the Northern Lights.
