Best Local Experience in St. Petersburg: The second Saturday Artwalk is full of locals buzzing between 40 galleries and art studios. The various indie markets are also worth discovering for a truly local experience. The organization Keep St. Pete Local always posts great things to do.

Best Spot to Snap a Postcard in St. Petersburg: Anywhere in the Central Arts District where there are dozens of incredible murals, some hiding behind alleys begging to be discovered.
Postcard I Yearn to Snap: Everyday scenes in the towns and villages of Northern Ireland (like Portglenone, Cullybacky and Coleraine) where my ancestors came from before they left for Scotland in the 1870s.
Top Travel Tip: Find out where there’s some street art in any destination, if there is a district with some, then it probably is cool, funky, eclectic, artsy and the bars, independent shops and restaurants will be great.
