Looking more like an Arabian palace than a hotel, the resort is cut with canal-like waterways and tropical gardens that line the way to its own private mile-long beach. 7. Burj Al Arab (Dubai)
Self-proclaimed at the world’s most luxurious hotel, Burj Al Arab is also considered the world’s only “seven-star hotel.” (If there were such a thing.) Each of the 60 floors is assigned its own butler to cater to guests needs, while two-story suites feature their own 24-karat gold iPads for guests’ personal use.

Faux temple ruins tower over the rest of the building structures to add ambience, while villas with private plunge pools overlook working rice paddies. One of the best spas in the country is onsite here, housed inside a massive template, and gourmet dining options run the gamut from haute French to royal Thai cuisine. Oh, and the private library with 5,000 books would make Belle from Beauty and the Beast weep.
