Grouse Mountain may not be as famous as Stanley Park, but it is beloved by vancouverites all the same. In the winter, it’s the fastest and easiest place to go for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer it’s a great spot to spend the day or half the day to enjoy Vancouver on a sunny day, watch a birds of prey show or visit the grizzly bears in their mountain top natural habitat. Winter or Summer, Grouse Mountain is also great for its views. Grab breakfast after watching the bears have theirs or go later for lunch or dinner at the Observatory Restaurant or the Lupins Cafe or the Grouse Grind Coffee Bar. All good.
The Grind. If you feel like working out, do as (some) vancouverites do and go up the mountain on foot. The Grouse Grind is a hike up the mountain. You can walk it or try running it. Either way your quads will get a great workout on the 2.9 km (1.8 mi).
You can go up to the top of Grouse Mountain on the Gondola or hike up the 1.8 miles.
